Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon can you come out for pest control in Toccoa or Gainesville?

Most Northeast Georgia customers are scheduled within 24 to 72 hours. During peak season (May through September) we book faster. Emergency stinging-insect and rodent situations receive same-day priority when possible.

Are your treatments safe for children and pets?

Yes. We use low-toxicity, EPA-approved products applied according to label directions. Our Integrated Pest Management approach prioritizes mechanical and cultural controls first, with chemical applications placed in crack-and-crevice voids rather than open surfaces where children and pets spend time. We always explain re-entry times on the day of service.

Do I need a contract for pest control?

No. We offer flexible monthly, quarterly, and one-time services. Most families in Toccoa, Commerce, Lavonia, and Jefferson choose quarterly or monthly service for year-round protection, but there's no multi-year commitment required.

What areas around Toccoa do you serve?

We serve all of Stephens County and surrounding communities including Lavonia, Commerce, Cornelia, Baldwin, Clayton, Demorest, Clarkesville, Cleveland, and the greater Gainesville, Buford, Cumming, and Sugar Hill area. Counties served include Stephens, Habersham, Hall, Banks, Jackson, Franklin, Rabun, White, Forsyth, and Gwinnett. Call us if your town isn't listed.

What is the difference between your three bundle plans?

The Essential plan ($32/mo) covers everyday pests: ants, roaches, spiders, silverfish, and crickets. The Complete plan ($75/mo) adds annual termite inspections and bait station monitoring, which is our most popular option for homeowners protecting their largest investment. The Premium plan ($99/mo) adds seasonal mosquito reduction, tick and flea yard treatment, rodent exclusion, and fire ant mound treatment for wooded or lake-adjacent properties.

Do you offer termite WDO letters for real estate closings?

Yes. Our Complete and Premium plan customers receive priority scheduling for Wood-Destroying Organism inspection letters required by lenders. We also offer WDO inspections as standalone services for sellers and buyers throughout Stephens, Hall, Habersham, and Jackson counties.

What makes Hanco different from the national chains?

We're family-owned, locally based in Toccoa, and our crews are your neighbors. You call our office, not a distant call center. Our technicians stay with us for years, so you often see the same person at each visit. And because we actually live in the climate we treat, our plans reflect what Northeast Georgia homes actually need.

Do you treat commercial properties?

Yes. We service restaurants, retail, schools, churches, warehouses, medical offices, and HOA common areas across our territory. Commercial accounts receive scheduled visits, documented treatment reports, and discreet uniformed technicians. Call for a commercial quote.

What should I do before my first pest control visit?

Not much. We ask that you clear a few feet around the exterior foundation if possible, secure pets during treatment, and let us know of any particular trouble spots. That's it. Our technician will walk the property with you on the first visit to understand your concerns.
